Frequently Asked Questions
Will Physio help my problem?
This obviously varies from case to case. If you aren't sure feel free to contact us and we will happily advise you.
What if you can't help me?
If we are unable to help, we will refer you to the appropriate person, e.g. sports doctor, biokineticist, etc.
What should I bring?
Bring your medical aid card and any referral letters, x-rays, sonars or other tests. If you don't have any of these, just bring yourself!
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in. Bring shorts if the problem is anywhere below the waist. Ladies, remember a hairband or clip so your hair doesn't get oily if the problem is neck pain or headaches.
How long will it take?
The first appointment usually takes one hour. Follow-up appointments are usually 30 minutes, but we decide on the amount of time needed when we book the appointment.
What if I'm running late or can't make it?
Please let us know at least 2 hours before your appointment. We may charge if you are more than 10 minutes late or if you do not cancel. If you can't make it, please phone, sms or email us. Someone else might need that slot!
Will it hurt?
We always respect your pain levels and try to work at a comfortable level! If you are feeling sore or uncomfortable, tell us and we will adjust the treatment accordingly.
Do you charge medical aid rates?
Yes. We adjust them annually to stay in line with the medical aid rates.
Will you submit to my medical aid?
Yes. We submit all claims to your medical aid, who pay us directly. If there is any amount outstanding, we will send you an invoice. It always remains the patient's responsibility to settle the account.
Is there a co-payment?
This depends on your medical aid. If you are unsure please ask! Certain techniques, like dry needling or strapping, are sometimes not covered by your medical aid. It is your choice if you want such techniques done. We will invoice you directly if the medical aid does not cover it.
How much does it cost?
Appointments vary between R300-R600, depending on what is done. Please ask your physio if you are unsure.
How do I pay you?
You can pay cash, by card or via EFT. We will email, fax or print you an invoice after your appointment.
